Description
7/15/21 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It has the proper cross canon cartouche and is "United States Property" marked. We purchased this gun directly from the grandson of the US GI who carried this gun during the war, Gerald Erb. While there are arsenal markings, we believe this gun has been arsenal reworked. The metal looks re-parkerized, it has a High Standard barrel, the barrel is parkerized and not blued, it has a replaced mainspring housing, the grips are mismatched, and the slide does not match the frame. In any case, the gun has a really nice look to it. It has retained most of its finish with some small dings around the takedown lever and spots of discoloration on the right side of the gun. Comes with a nice period-correct magazine. The bore is nice with strong rifling.Specifications
