Description
08/11/26 - For sale is an ROF Maltby No4 Mk1* Lee Enfield made in 1944. This rifle is marked with the Post-war French Police PP Inventory number on the receiver. These rifles were imported by Navy Arms from France, with stories of them being given to French Resistance soldiers, but there hasn't been definitive proof that this is the case. The majority of these rifles were in excellent condition and looked to be unused or only lightly used. This example has an excellent enamel finish with only light wear. The stock shows some light dings around the receiver ring. No cracks or breaks to note. Bore is mirror bright with strong rifling. These rifles were stored by the French police with the bolt and magazine separated, so they were not matched together prior to import. The bolt does not match the receiver, but has the PP inventory mark. The magazines were replaced with reproduction examples by Navy Arms. Import mark on the muzzle.
