Description

3/19/26 - The Colt Service Model Ace, introduced in 1937 and produced through the end of World War II, was designed as a .22 LR training pistol that closely replicated the look, weight, and handling of the standard M1911A1. Intended for economical military training, it allowed shooters to practice with reduced recoil and cost while maintaining familiarity with the service pistol. Though never an official issue sidearm, it saw widespread use in U.S. military training programs and remains a notable example of wartime innovation in firearms design. This one was manufactured in 1945 and is all correct with "GHD" military inspection initials on the frame. It has retained about 96-97% of its original parkerized finish. Just hints of high edge and muzzle wear, a couple of small dots of wear on the front strap, and some very light surface scuffs here and there. Fitted with correct reddish plastic grips and comes with a proper magazine. Excellent, shiny bore with strong rifling.
