Description

7/24/26 - This is an excellent example of a High Standard Model 107 "The Victor", manufactured in 1974 at the company’s Hamden, Connecticut facility. Introduced in 1971 as High Standard’s competition-oriented target pistol, the Victor refined the Model 107 military-grip platform with a 5.5-inch heavy barrel, aluminum ventilated rib, Patridge front sight, fully adjustable rear sight, gold-finished trigger and controls, stippled grip straps, and checkered walnut thumbrest grips. This configuration provided an extended sighting plane and allowed the pistol’s balance to be adjusted with removable barrel weights, while retaining the crisp single-action mechanics for which the Victor became known. This example is all matching, with the serial number number stamped on the right side of the frame and internally on the frame-flat beneath the slide and directly behind the barrel shroud, which connect the slide and frame for these models. This example retains about 95-97% of its blue finish, with wear concentrated mainly on the high edges of the slide flats, with some thinning along the slide rail, scattered fine scratches along the top section and mild thinning at the far edges of the ventilated rib. A bit of wear and finish loss on the left side of the gold-finished trigger. The walnut grips are excellent, with light handling marks, but mostly crisp checkering and no visible cracks or chips. It comes with three total magazines, and three barrel weights of differing profiles, to dial in the perfect individual feel, regardless of target distance of of target, or recoil sensitivity. The loose blued magazines show scattered edge and insertion wear, while the bright-finished magazine has some areas of mild discoloration. They are all fully functional, with strong springs and undamaged lips. The bore is minty with almost zero signs of use. The mechanics are smooth and the trigger is excellent, as expected from this purpose-built target pistol, which was undoubtably one of the finest ever crafted by man.
