Description
10/16/26 - This is a Chinese Taku Naval Dockyard flatside C96 Broomhandle. During the warlord era of the 1920s and 1930s, the Mauser C96 was one of the most sought-after sidearms in China, and several Chinese arsenals produced their own copies to meet the demand. The Taku Naval Dockyard was one of them, and its Type II pistols were built with a flatside frame and large ring hammer, with only about 3,500 made between 1928 and 1933. This particular example is all matching and bears the "TAKU NAVAL DOCKYARD" inscription on top of the receiver. There is also a Century Arms import mark on the side of the barrel. It has retained about 98% of its finish, with minor high edge wear and a couple of scratches on the right side of the frame. Fitted with matching numbered wood grips. Mint bore. A rare Chinese-made Broomhandle in excellent condition.
