Description
10/3/23 - This is an excellent example of an 1895 Mannlicher Carbine used by the bicycle troops of the Netherlands. These carbines are unique, sporting a wooden magazine cover to protect the uniform while slung on the soldierÄôs back. This carbine is all matching with serial numbers on the receiver, bolt body, safety flag, bold head, extractor, rear striker assembly, magazine body, bolt release, magazine floor, and nose cap. The bluing is worn down on the receiver and has a fine layer of patina while the bolt release, rear sight, magazine body/trigger guard, magazine floor, and nose cap still have a deep bluing. The finish on the barrel is slightly worn towards the muzzle but still has bluing. About 80% condition overall. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The wood is in excellent condition with a faint cartouche on the right side but the handguard has a chip missing where it overlaps the receiver. There is also a stock repair next to the tang of the receiver and there is also "W C" scratched into the left side of the stock above the magazine.Specifications
