Description
8/6/26 - For sale is an excellent example of a WWII-era Luftwaffe Officer's dress sword manufactured by Eickhorn. The blade on this sword is very bright with no signs of patina or structural damage. There is some light wear on the blade, which appears to be primarily from the scabbard. There is a small 1/4" surface blemish on each side of the face of the blade, roughly half way up the blade. One side of the blade bears the Eickhorn maker's mark on the ricasso, which also shows a partial eagle stamp. The eagle feather crossguard is in excellent shape with a faint patina and some high-edge wear scarcely present. The bottom of the crossguard bears an "Nr. 37" stamp which matches the top of the scabbard. The leather handle wrap is intact with very light wear present. The swastikas on the pommel and crossguard still bear some of the gold wash, though there is some finish loss present overall. The oakleaf and acorn pattern surrounding the edge of the pommel is in great shape with good detail still present. The scabbard is in great shape with good structural integrity still present. The leather on the scabbard shows minimal wear and no signs of any finish loss or tears. The metal on both ends of the scabbard is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina throughout. The top of the scabbard next to the opening bears the same "Nr. 37" stamp. Overall this sword is in excellent condition.
