Description
10/22/26 - This is an excellent Walther P.38 holster manufactured by Hans Romer in 1943 and issued to the German military during World War II. The external leather is firm yet pliable. The reverse side is stamped with the Romer letter code and year. Below that is a Waffenamt inspection proof, while on the far right of the reverse the model designation is stamped. " The front shows some handling marks, scuffing, and a few spots of light (likely moisture-related) wrinkling. The top of the front flap shows hints of wrinkling from operational stress. There is also light scratching on the external side of the magazine pouch. The reverse side has very minor wrinkling throughout. In the middle of the reverse lower body section (going from the seam boundary), there is a mild distress spot where the leather is slightly lightened and pushed outward. The closure straps show wrinkling and age, but are in great shape. All of the stitching appears to be both original and in excellent condition, showing a few spots showing slight looseness and localized disturbance, but nothing is missing, replaced, or repaired. The internal leather is is in excellent condition, better than the exterior leather, with the front flap looking nearly-unissued, with mild darkening and distress at its outermost points where the gun and magazine are located. There is some scuffing and scratching on the interior black leather patch joining the two sides of the holster, and a couple of spots of material deformation and light fraying. These are all incredibly minor and surface-level. The vast majority of the internal leather is near-perfect, firm and structured. An excellent, hardshell 1943 Hans Romer P.38 holster that pairs perfectly with a wartime Walther.
