Excellent, Late-war Ersatz 7.65mm Holster

8/5/26 - For sale is an excellent, late-war Ersatz holster for a 7.65mm pistol. The Ersatz holsters were made by layering recycled paper with layers of rubber between them to make them sturdy yet pliable. The Germans were known to have made these holsters at the end of the war as supplies were running low. There are no markings or stamps, but the holster is typical German style. This would fit a Walther PPK, Sauer 38h, Mauser HSC, or similar sized Axis pistol, though it appears that this one held a Mauser HSC based on the outline impressed in the holster. The lid is in beautiful condition with minor marks where the corner of the spare magazine would sit. The lid has remained surprisingly pliable with no signs of any cracks or tears. There is also a semi-circle mark just below the leather front strap. The muzzle end of the holster has a minor scratch that has resulted in a spot of finish loss. There is one more area of wear on the bottom of the spare magazine pouch on the bottom right corner. While the layered paper material was not ideal for repetitious use, the front straps continued to be made out of leather as they would be the most commonly handled part of the holster. The leather strap on this holster has remained in excellent condition with no signs of any rips or tears. There are very minor signs of cracking surrounding the knob opening. All of the stitching on this holster is in excellent condition with no signs of any ripping or pulling. It does appear that there is one stitch missing from the bottom left corner of the magazine pouch.
