Excellent, Late-War LYO-Code P.38 Holster

9/28/26 - This is an excellent P.38 holster that was manufactured by Kromolowski in 1944. The leather on this late-war holster is in excellent condition with minimal color loss and has remained sturdy yet pliable. The craftsmanship on this holster shows the late-war desperation as they were trying to get as many holsters out as possible. The front strap and belt loops are a darker leather than the rest of the holster, though it does not seem like they are replacements as they bear the original stitching with no signs of repairs. The flap on this holster shows some impressions in the finish from a previous owner marking their holster, though it is not legible and there is no finish loss from it. The front strap shows some finish cracking and some loss on the edges, though it is remaining fully functional with no rips or tears. The back of the holster shows very minimal finish or color loss. Above the belt loops in the top left corner of the back, it bears the "lyo" manufacturer's code, the "Eagle/WaA77" Waffenamt military inspection proof, and the "1944" production year. The right side of the holster on the back bears the "P.38" model designation. The stitching on this holster is in excellent shape with no signs of any rips or tears. The white colored thread on the holster has retained a majority of its pure color, but does show some crude execution as commonly seen with late-war holsters.
