Description

7/14/17 - This an excellent example of a late "d" block Walther manufactured K43 rifle from World War II. It has been fitted with a non-matching WWII ZF4 sniper scope and mount. The left side of the receiver is marked "K43" followed by "ac/45" (stacked) followed by serial number "2704d". The right side receiver flat is correctly stamped with a E/359 proof. The rifle has a late war type three rough forged receiver with the dual bolt guides. It is fitted with a type three rough cast bolt carrier with the reinforcing web on the front end (only) and it still retains the hold open latch with the hollow cocking knob. It has a stamped action cover with the sliding manual dust cover. It is fitted with a late laminated stock and handguard version with the single E/359 proof on the right side below the sling slot and a single smaller ones in the pistol grip area. It comes with a K43 marked "aye" manufactured magazine with a single "WaA843" Waffenampt proof. The rifle is complete with a cleaning rod and late war smooth brown leather sling. The rifle is fitted with a late war, very rough cast K43 sniper mount fitted with a blued ZF4 scope. The mount is numbered 8691 on the front end with a single E/359 proof below the locking lever. The scope is marked "GW ZP4/37667/ddx". The scope comes with a reproduction rubber eyecup, metal rain shield, leather lens covers, amber filter and canvas cover. The optics are very good - the photo was taken on a rainy day so they look cloudier than they are. The rifle has a gray phosphated finish on the action and receiver with a blued barrel and trigger guard. The finish is excellent with 97% plus of the original wartime phosphate finish overall on the metal parts with the bolt carrier and barrel having a blued finish. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition with nice distinct markings showing the wartime machining on the stock. The scope mount has a blackened, rough cast exterior finish and color with a purplish tint to the base. The scope retains 95% of the blue finish with clear markings. The optics are very clear and might be the nicest optics we have seen. This is a nice looking late WWII K43 rifle with sniper scope and mount.
