Description

02/27/2024 - This is a great example of a K98k "Kriegsmodell" Mauser made by the Steyr factory. The Kriegsmodell rifles were K98ks that were simplified for manufacturing before becoming "last ditch." This rifle has the standard Kriegsmodell features like the lack of a bayonet lug and cleaning rod, screws used to hold barrel bands, lack of a takedown disk in the stuck but instead a hole in the buttplate, and "mod98" stamped on the receiver. This rifle is matching throughout on the receiver, rear sight ladder & slider, bolt, safety body, and striker assembly. The bore is bright with great rifling. The rifle retains the majority of its original finish and is free of pitting or rusting.
