SOLD - Excellent Matsushita Type 30 Bayonet - "National Denki"

9/22/26 - This is an excellent example of a 85th Series Type 30 bayonet manufactured by the Matsushita Kinzoku KK Arsenal. This manufacturer, commonly known as "National Denki", or National Electric, was known for manufacturing these Type 30 bayonets, along with wireless radios, batteries, and ships. This bayonet is in excellent shape and has retained a beautiful blued finish on its blade. The only notable finish loss on the blade are scratches from entering and exiting the scabbard. The arsenal marks on the ricasso on the right side of the bayonet are crisp with clear markings. The pommel of the bayonet bears the 85th series mark, along with serial number 91119. The toe of the pommel bears the inspection mark. The pommel retention latch has smooth travel and tight but responsive pressure on the spring. The wood grip panels are in excellent shape with no signs of cracks, though the bottom of the panels show some light wear and small areas of missing wood, primarily in the corners. The cross guard is in excellent shape with no signs of any damage to the metal or play in the fitting. The scabbard with this Type 30 bayonet is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina on the exterior. There is a small indentation on the right side of the scabbard roughly 5" up from the tip of the scabbard, though it does not affect the functionality or fitment. Overall an excellent bayonet.
