08/02/2024 - For sale is a Sharps New Model 1863 rifle chambered in .52 caliber. For a rifle nearing 160 years old, it is in excellent condition with the metal retaining much of its original finish with spots of patina and oxidation. The metal on the receiver has darkened with age. The stock is excellent with only minor scuffs and handling marks. The bore is bright for its age and using black powder, but there are spots of pitting visible. The action locks up tight and releases smoothly. This rifle is an antique.
