11/17/25 - This is an excellent Smith & Wesson .38/44 Outdoorsman Model from 1956. It is matching and chambered in .38 Special. It comes with a factory letter that details the history of this model and states that this particular gun was shipped from the S&W factory on March 22, 1945 to the Jesse Harpe Co in Tampa, Florida. The gun's original high polish finish rates about 95% with very minor muzzle wear, some wear on the high edge near the ejector rod, a light roll mark on the cylinder, and a few tiny surface scratches and handling marks here and there. Fitted with very nice hand-checkered Walnut grips - small chip in the checkering on the left side. Mint bore.
