Description

6/12/25 - This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, "United States Property" marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and "Eagle Head" military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 95% of its original high polish bluing. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are areas of light spotty discoloration and pin-pricking on both sides of the frame and on the top strap. Fitted with excellent wood grips - the right side is numbered in pencil to match the gun. The bore has great rifling, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation in the grooves.
