Description
12/12/24 - Between 1921-40, select rifles were produced at Springfield Armory for National Match shooting competition. Production barrels were measured with star-gauges, and those meeting specified tolerances were stamped with an asterisk shaped star on the muzzle crown. Such is the case with this one. This rifle also features a checkered buttplate as seen on other NM rifles but does not have an E-penciled bolt. The serial number on the receiver dates to 1922. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated 3-22. The metal parts show very little finish loss, and the wood stock is excellent. The bore is bright with great rifling and has a muzzle erosion rating of 1.Specifications
