SOLD - Excellent St Etienne MLE 1892 w/ Bayonet - Matching

2/28/25 - For sale is a Model 1892 Berthier carbine made in 1897 at the St Etienne Arsenal. The carbine is in good condition with an aged look. The bluing on the metal is in tact but is beginning to fade with scattered freckling of oxidation. The stock shows signs of being sanded long in the past but is free of cracks or breaks. The bore is very bright with great rifling. The rifle has matching numbers on the barrel, bolt, bolt head, stock, magazine floor, and cleaning rod. The carbine also comes with a correct 1892 bayonet. There are dotting of oxidation on the crossguard and hilt. The grip panels have some small cracks around one screw and a larger one going from one end to the other on the other screw. The blade looks to have been coarsly sharpened in the past. The scabbard is scattered with surface rust and retains some of its the dark finish. The serial numbers do not match each other, and neither match the carbine.
