Description
11/5/26 - This is an excellent example of a WWI-era U.S. Army Officer's M1910 visor cap. The olive drab cloth on the body of this hat is in excellent condition, showing almost no signs of damage. There are a few sparce pin pricks present in the top crown of the hat, and a small spot of ripped cloth near the top seam on the front right of the hat. The woven tan strap running the circumference of the hat shows no signs of any ripping or tearing and is still securely stitched into the cap. The leather visor is in very nice condition, only showing some hints of high-edge wear, and a couple surface blemished, though none of these seem to have penetrated the exterior later of the leather. The interior liner inside of the hat shows some discoloration from wear and some light thinning and separated weaves in the material. The leather band running inside of the rim of the hat is in great condition with no signs of rips or tears, however it has started to separate from the body of the hat towards the rear. Written in ink on the right side of the inner rim is "72.10.3d". The front of the cap bears a beautiful officer's U.S. front insignia pinned securely to the hat. The decorative leather chinstrap is in excellent condition with almost no visible blemishes, and is securely fastened by two tarnished brass Federal Eagle buttons. Overall this is one of the nicest condition U.S. Army Officer's M1910 visor caps from WWI that you will find today.
