Description
2/4/26 - This is an excellent example of a Walther P.38 made at the very end of WW2, in 1945. It is all matching (which is very hard to find in the "c" serial block) and only has one "Eagle 359" military proof on the right side of the slide, indicating that it was never actually issued to the military before the Walther factory was liberated. The left side of the frame has an "Eagle 140" proof, indicating that this gun has a rare FN-made frame. It has proper late-war features such as phosphate small parts and a cog-style hammer. The magazine has the correct late war "U", indicating it was unhardened. This magazine also has a proper ribbed follower for this very late magazine. It has retained about 93% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, so the profiles views are nice. There is also general high edge wear and muzzle wear. A small area of discoloration at the back left of the slide. Fitted with period-correct brown bakelite grips. Like-new bore with a bright, mirrored finish. De-cocker is functional.
