Description
8/11/26 - This is a rare, early WW2 production Mauser Luger tool. The tool is stamped on the front metal with a light, but legible W|154 proof stamp. This particular proof stamp is the "High Variation" which means that the central portion of the "W" is higher and even with the ends of the W. The stamp was later changed to a "Low Variation" where the central part of the "W" only extends about halfway up. This proof was used mostly with G Date Lugers (1935 production), but are sometimes found with (and is still appropriate for) K Date Lugers as well (1934 production). The tool is in great condition with all-original finish and minimal finish loss. No signs of any cracks, and one small impression in the metal towards the magazine channel in the back of the Luger tool towards the bottom. Overall this tool is in excellent condition.
