Description

4/27/18 - In 1941 the finish on the AC41 went from high-polish blue to the more common military dull finish.   This is the later variation found in the J block.   The original finish covers about 98% of the gun.   Many of the small part are waffen proofed including the safety lever and take down lever; slide lever, trigger and hammer.  The grips are waffen stamped.  All numbered parts are matching.  This is just a real nice example of a 3rd variation ac 41.  The bore has strong rifling but definitely a few spots of pitting - most likely from not cleaning after use of corrosive ammo.   I would rate it a 5 or 6 out of 10; so not terrible, but not minty either.  Now for the magazine...it is matching to the gun, but NOT factory numbering.  It is roll stamped, so I don't believe it was done by a "faker".  It is in the style of the police arsenal mags I have seen or post war police.  It has the single waffen 359 stamp on the spine. So I am assuming the mag was numbered to the gun post factory and perhaps post war.  Priced as a non-matched magazine.  Note that the de-cocker does not work, which is common for early P.38's.
