Description
5/5/26 - This is an exceptional example of a first generation Colt Single Action Army revolver, manufactured in 1939. Chambered in .357 with a 5.5 inch barrel. It comes fitted with a beautiful set of real ivory grips with a Buffalo engraving on the right side. It is often the case that these animal heads are the signature of a famous engraver. We can't say for sure on this one, and we weren't able to find any other signature on the gun. The gun comes with its matching-numbered box and the original black hard rubber grips. This particular gun is in exceptional condition compared to other first-gen examples you'll see. It has retained about 90% of its original finish with minor muzzle wear, general high edge wear and roll marks on the cylinder, and some minor scratchy wear on the grip straps. The bore is mostly minty, but there is an area of what looks like dried grease in one area - might clean out nicely with a thorough bore cleaning. Smooth action.
