Description
8/7/26 - Comes from the collection of Tom Whiteman. Will include a COA. This is a very nice example of an extremely rare wartime commercial Walther Mod HP, chambered in .30 Luger or 7.65mm. Within the Mod HP production, four variations of guns chambered for .30 Luger caliber were produced. These weapons were focused on the sport shooter's market. The "Mod HP" designation was a sales and marketing tactic, reminding a potential buyer of the excellent reputation of the successful military P.38 pistol. It is estimated that only about 150 of this variation was produced, making this an extremely rare pistol. It is all matching, has the proper "Eagle N" proofs, and has the correct "7.65" marking in the slide legend. It has retained about 93% of its original high polish bluing. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap (where there is also some minor spotty oxidation), but there are also hints of high edge / muzzle wear, one tiny spot of pin-pricking on the right side of the slide, and a couple of tiny scratches on the right side of the slide. Fitted with correct checkered grips. Comes with a "P.38" marked magazine. Like-new bore. De-cocker is functional.
