Description
6/17/21 - This is an excellent example of an extremely rare DWM Model 1906 Navy Luger. It is all matching and has the proper "Crown M" Imperial Navy proofs. The safety lever was converted to a variation two with the safe in the lower position. There is a "Gouv. Kiau 7" marking on the back strap that is panographed, not stamped. The number is "7" is inverted. This marking would indicate that it was issued to the German Navy Garrison stationed at the German Colony in Kiaochow China. The rear grip strap is engraved "GOUV.KIAU.7", indicating this was the 7th pistol issued to the German Government Colony. The Chinese were eventually invaded by the Japanese in 1914 with this specific Garrison being heavily sieged for several months, which eventually capitulated in late 1914. This particular gun was professionally restored with hints of wear at the base of the front strap, on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. Minor freckling on the straps. Comes with excellent grips - one matches the gun, the other does not. Also comes with a nice mismatched magazine. Excellent bore - shiny with strong rifling.Specifications
