Description
2/25/26 - This is a factory-nickeled Colt Frontier Six Shooter from 1887. 7.5 inch barrel and chambered in .44-40. According to the included Colt factory letter, it left the factory with a nickeled finish and was shipped to John P. Lower & Sons in Denver, Colorado on May 28, 1887. It is completely matching and has retained roughly 60% of its finish. There are areas of wear throughout, but the majority of the actual finish loss and patina is concentrated on the frame and cylinder. There is a series of small dings on the left side of the barrel. Fitted with period-correct wood grips that are fairly worn around the edges. The bore has great rifling, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Fully functional.
