08/20/2024 - For sale is a rare M1D Sniper made on a Winchester receiver that was produced in 1945. The rifle had been sold through through the DCM and is in excellent condition. The metal has a great, even parkerized finish that is slightly worn on the side of the receiver. The stock is excellent with a sharp RA and SA stamp. The receiver is stamped "WIN-13" which is seen on the last of the Winchester M1 Garands in 1945. The bore is excellent and very bright with great rifling. The Muzzle erosion rates a 1 and the throat erosion is also a 1. The barrel was made by Springfield in September of 1952.¬
The rifle comes with its original foil packaging the bundle came in from DCM. The leather cheekpad is in great condition and is marked "MRT 1 52." The M84 scope has a sharp reticle and clear lens. The scope is serialized "6865." The bundle includes cleaning gear like a cleaning rod and brushes, as well as a canvas sling and a leather 1907 style sling. There is also a FOIA letter and a letter from the CMP included. The CMP letter states that this rifle was sold in April of 1996.¬
