10/30/23 - Up for sale is a fantastic condition German Mauser Model 1871/84 made at the Spandau Arsenal in 1888. This rifle retains the majority of its factory finish and looks like it has never been issued. The barrel and barrel bands have a deep bluing to them with some finish loss. The receiver is in the white with no signs of active pitting. The stock is also in excellent condition with minimal handling marks. There are some small dents here and there on the left side of the stock. The rifle looks to be all matching. The matching serial number is stamped on the barrel, receiver, bolt, bolt head, safety flag, single shot mechanism, all 3 barrel bands, the magazine tube, the magazine cap, trigger guard, trigger guard screw, buttplate, and buttplate screw. The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is very sharp.
