4/8/26 - This FN Browning M1935 Hi-Power is an early Finnish military contract pistol, part of a limited wartime delivery estimated at approximately 2,400 pistols, produced with a tangent rear sight and slotted frame for shoulder stock use. These pistols began arriving in Finland prior to the outbreak of the Continuation War, and although they were military contract arms, they do not bear SA property markings, as SA acceptance was not applied until the later part of 1942, after these pistols had already been delivered and placed into service. The pistol is accompanied by a correct period wooden shoulder stock with integral board holster of the proper Finnish contract pattern, factory-numbered “13216,” with the numbering exhibiting correct style, depth, and age-consistent wear, consistent with a genuine period Finnish-service stock rather than a later replacement or reproduction. Finnish FN Hi-Power shoulder stock rigs were originally numbered in service in a manner comparable to Mauser C96 rigs; however, due to wartime use and subsequent attrition, very few intact matching-number FN Finnish rig sets are known to survive today. This gun has retained about 90% of its original bluing. The majority of the wear is represented in an area around the left side of the muzzle, but there is also spotty discoloration along the left side of the slide, a spot of wear on the front strap, a spot of wear on the right side of the slide, and general high edge / muzzle wear. Fitted with period-correct wood grips. Excellent, shiny bore with strong rifling. Import mark on the bottom edge of the magazine well.
