Description
7/16/25 - This is a nice example of a Browning Model 1905, chambered in 6.35mm or .25 ACP. It is virtually identical to the Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket, which was based on the same John Browning prototype, and was the inspiration for FN's later Baby Browning design. Although Browning's handgun patents were sold to both FN and Colt, this was the only case in which both companies put the same design into production without any significant modification. This one is all matching and has the proper Belgian proofs. There is also what appears to be either a Japanese or Chinese character. This particular character is used in both Chinese and Japanese and has different meanings in either language. These pistols were purchased for both Chinese and Japanese officers. There's no way to say for sure if it is part of either contract, or even if the marking is original. So please examine the photos and decide for yourself. In any case, the gun has retained nearly all of its finish. Fitted with horn grips - one tiny bore hole on the right side. Excellent bore with great rifling.
