Description
6/30/26 - This is a Pre-1898 antique French Officer's Model Chamelot-Delvigne revolver, manufactured in1876 at the St. Etienne Arsenal as marked on the barrel. In contrast to the more popular Mle 1873 Chamelot-Delvigne Enlisted Model revolver, the officer's model has lightening flutes on the cylinder, a rust-blued frame, barrel, and cylinder, and strawed small parts. Only 35,000 Officer's Model Mle 1874 revolvers were manufactured, in contrast to 337,000 of the Enlisted model Mle 1874 revolvers. All serial numbers are matching. It mechanically functions fine in both single and double action. Timing is correct and lock up shows minimal play in cylinder. The gun retains roughly 50% of its finish with spotty wear and discoloration throughout. Areas of light pitting throughout. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
