G.41/G.43/K.43 ZF4 Scope with Mount - Czech Military

3/14/25 - Up for sale is a ZF4 scope and mount, designed primarily for use with G43 and K43 rifles, though they were also used on FG42s and are compatible with G41s. This scope is maker-marked "dow," indicating that it was manufactured by the Czech company Opticotechna, who manufactured 50,000 ZF4s. About 40,000 of these were produced for the Wehrmacht during WWII, and 10,000 were repurposed for the Czech military. Both the scope and mount have the correct features and markings to indicate they are the Czech military versions. Scope is marked "ZF K 43" and stamped with serial number "42391". Given that the ZF4 stamp was used by Opticotechna until serial number 42000, that serial number places it within the first 400 scopes dow produced with the ZF K 43 marking. All German markings are "lined out," another Czech military indicator. The bottom of the scope has the Czech military Rampant lion symbol between "U 45", showing this scope was manufactured in 1945. The mount is marked "E7 47" with another instance of the Rampant lion proof stamped between them, indicating that the mount was manufactured in 1947. The number "1710" is stamped on the bottom right of the mount directly the above a small CZ logo. The optics on this scope are crystal clear, and the reticle is perfectly sharp. The exterior of the scope is in great condition, with minor surface scuffs and a bit of patina here and there, but not a lot of actual finish loss. The mount is in great shape, but does have some light oxidation and roughness in the finish. Scope bands and screws are likely replacements, and the mount lever is missing. Does not come with rubber eyecups or anything else that isn't pictured with the listing.
