Description
10/23/25 - This is an absolutely gorgeous example of a Colt Government Model 1911A1 from 1928. According to the included Colt Factory Letter, it was manufactured on November 19, 1928 and shipped to H&D Folsom Arms Company in New York, New York on January 29, 1929. It comes with its original matching-numbered box (a little tattered, especially around the edges), a minty and correct two-tone magazine, and a period-original "Colt Firearms: The Arm of Law and Order" catalogue. The gun itself is in beautiful condition, especially for an early gun like this. It has retained nearly all of its original high polish bluing with just some tiny handling marks on the front strap and a few very light surface scratches here and there. This includes a few extremely light "idiot scratches" on the left side of the slide - these are only visible when looking at the gun from certain angles. Fitted with mint wood grips that have really sharp checkering. The bore is factory-new - looks unfired.
