One of a Kind, Engraved Colt Frontier Six Shooter - NYC Commemorative

2/22/26 - Here we have a beautifully engraved, commemorative Colt Frontier Six Shooter for sale. It is engraved by Roland J. Robidoux. Roland is a self-taught engraver who began the practice in the 1960's. Today, he is recognized as a master by the Colt Custom Gun Shop, the Colt Collector's Association, and collectors worldwide. He takes inspiration from the Colt master engraver, Lynton McKenzie. This piece was finished by Roland in 2010 to commemorate the commemorate the 400 year anniversary of the founding of New York City (1609-2009). 

The gun is a 1st generation Colt Frontier Six Shooter (variant of Colt SAA) that was manufactured in 1902. The gun is in excellent condition with all of the work that has been done.  It has a nice charcoal blue finish. It has an exceptional amount of gold inlay, all of which is 24K gold. Some of the gold inlay features include gold hammer borders, gold serial number, gold frame borders, gold raised inlay of New York Yankees logo, gold inlay of subway entrance on the top of the backstrap, gold raised inlays of apple and half of a bagel on the front right and left of the frame, and many more. The grips are made of ivory and have been hand carved to show the Statue of Liberty on the left grip, and the New York City skyline on the right grip. The bore of the gun is darkened and has rust and some pitting throughout. The gun comes in a suit case with protecting foam pads inside of it. Also included in this listing is documentation listing the features of this gun as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.
