Description
1/19/26 - This is a gorgeous example of a 1911 presented to Harry A. Delaney, president of the 78th Division Veterans Association in 1946-47. The entire gun is plated with real silver and features a beautiful and intricate floral filigree engraving pattern. There are American Frontier motifs on both sides of the slide. It is paired very nicely with a set of mother-of-pearl grips. The gun comes with a wood presentation case with a sliver name plate that reads "78th Division Veterans Assn Inc, Harry A. Delaney, President, 1946-47". The gun is in excellent condition overall, and the silver shows nice and honest tarnish from age. Mint bore. It comes with a silver-plated magazine that shows the same engraving on the base plate. The pistol has no serial number or maker markings, so we are unsure the origin of the piece.
