Description
2/25/26- For sale is an interesting WWI era German skull pin by Friedlaender Brothers, a jewelry firm that supplied the Kaiser and imperial family. The pin itself is about 2.5 inches long and is made of a brass or bronze material, although with the reputation of the jeweler, a gold mixture is not impossible. The pin shows a skull and crossbones design with large round eyes, notably different than the later famous SS skulls from the Nazi era. There is mild patina on the pin but no serious damage. The box itself is a small, narrow jewelry box with a leather exterior and silk and velvet interior. There is mild wear on the leather exterior but the small hinge and clasp are intact. Some of the interior silk that sits across the bend/hinge spot has ripped from time and wear. The rest of the box interior is intact, including the clear jeweler mark inside the lid with the imperial crown and the city of Berlin. Overall in excellent condition.
