Description
8/20/25 - This is a J. Stevens & Co. (Chicopee Falls, Mass.) pocket pistol, a compact single-shot, tip-up design from the late 1860s–1870s transition to metallic cartridges. Typically chambered in .22 rimfire (occasionally other small RF calibers). The barrel address marked “J. Stevens & Co., Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A.”. Simple, sturdy, and affordable, these were popular personal-carry pistols during Reconstruction and the Gilded Age. Collectors value them for their role in Stevens’ early handgun line. This one features a steel barrel and a brass frame. In nice condition overall with just honest patina throughout. Minor bruising on the wood grips. The bore shows noticeable pitting throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.
