Description
7/28/26 - This is an Arisaka Type 97 sniper scope case from the WW2 era. Most likely from the late 1930's. The case is in excellent condition. The exterior appears to be a sort of olive drab rubberized canvas. This surface finish is in excellent shape and is uniform over the exterior of the case except for underneath the outcropped pouch portion of the case. There are black ink Japanese characters underneath the lid of the case. The canvas strap is in excellent shape and has some small Japanese characters on it that are illegible. The leather closure strap has a few cracks but remains supple. The inside of the case is also in excellent shape, and it has a felt liner on the inside of the lid.
