| Year: | 1953 |
| Type: | Shell |
| Caliber: | 105mm |
| Condition: | Very Nice |
Description
10/13/26 - This is a very nice example of a 105mm Howitzer shell casing manufactured in 1953, which puts its production right at the end of the Korean War. This shell is marked "105 MM, M14 B1", with the B1 designation indicating that this is a steel shell, as opposed to the brass examples. The steel is in very nice shape with the protective lacquer still predominantly present on the exterior of the casing, which was used to prevent rust on the steel. There is some speckled patina present on the casing, with most lacquer loss present on the lip near the projectile opening. There is a small indent on the lip of the shell, and two ribbed lines running the perimeter of the shell towards the projectile end of the casing. Overall, a nice example of a 105mm shell.
