SOLD - S/42 Mauser Replacement Magazine: W/154 G Date

Description

3/4/24 - This is an original, early WW2 Mauser Armory Replacement magazine. The magazine is rare for a number of reasons: First, the base is stamped "W/154" which is an early factory code used mostly with G Date Lugers. Second, The base is "S/42" stamped, which is an armory replacement marking, indicating this magazine was made for field replacement. Third, the spine of the magazine is unit marked, which is rare and desirable. The magazine also features an early nickel tube in excellent condition and aluminum base. The base shows no signs of alteration. The numeral "1" underneath the serial number indicates this was perhaps originally issued to the military, then later re-issued for police use. This would also explain the unit stamp on the spine (a common police practice). Overall this is a rare, early magazine with a lot of interesting history and collectible features. Fully functional spring, and no rust or pitting.
