SOLD - WW1 Fernglas 08 Binoculars with Case - Unit Marked

6/10/24 - This is an original, complete set of WW1 Fernglas 08 Binoculars with leather shoulder strap, lens cover, and leather carry case. The binoculars are in great overall condition with normal exterior surface wear and aging. The exterior finish is a field olive green paint with leather attached straps as shown. The adjustment knobs are all fully functional, except for the right eye lens focus adjustment, which moves but doesn't seem to function (price reduced accordingly). The leather neck / shoulder strap is repaired in one pot with a few staples, and the rest of the leather is in great shape with normal surface wrinkling and cracking from use. Nice, original lens cover attached to the leather strap. The leather case is excellent condition with an exterior, matching maker marking (C.P. Goerz also found on the binoculars). The leather belt strap is also unit marked "2.M.G.K. G.W.5." which suggests this was part of a machine gun unit. Clean, original interior. A very nice all original WW1 binoculars grouping.
