SOLD - Imperial Army Field Belt & Buckle

6/10/24 - This is an original WW1 Imperial German Army Field belt and buckle. This grouping is in great condition for its age, and is very well marked. The buckle has field green olive paint with surface patina and age throughout the exterior. The reverse has old paint for a unit number indication of some sort (we're not sure), "17285/2". The buckle is attached to a leather tab that is maker stamped and dated 1918. Great condition leather and all original stitching intact. The leather belt is in great condition as well with supple leather that's strong with normal pliability. Light surface wear and age throughout but no major issues. The hooked-end of the belt is maker stamped and dated 1916 on the leather tab, and the interior belt leather is distributor marked, "BAXVII". Below this stamp is a matching paint marking, "17285/2" to that found on the buckle. A very nice, highly collectible and original WW1 German Army grouping.
