SOLD - 1936 Luger Holster (KW072324-6)

7/31/24 - This is an original 1936 dated Luger holster from early WW2. The holster is all black with excellent black leather and matching, all-original black stitching. We only rate this example as "great" overall due to an interesting spot of wear on the front leather. As seen in photos, the front lid has a small area where a shiny black film of some sort has begun to peel and separate from the leather. Our suspicion is this offers insight into how the Germans finished some of their holsters. This style of finish appears on other early K Date (1934), G Date (1935), and pre-1938 black holsters we've encountered. Another theory is that this finish was due to Hitler's order to make all holsters black, and this example was re-finished or re-dyed black in this fashion during the 1940's. This would explain why the interior stitching is straw colored and the exterior stitching is black. Regardless, the leather has normal pliability and use wear, but holds shape very nicely. No major issues and a strong, clean closure strap. Interior leather shows normal use and rub wear. Excellent stitching throughout. The back leather is maker stamped, date stamped, and waffen military proof stamped.
