Description
8/30/24 - This is a WW2 era Sauer 38h commercial wood case for display and storage. The case is unmarked but comes with early style closure hook and hinge, and shows natural age throughout. The two hinge brackets are secured by 4 small screws each, with one of the hinges appearing to have a replaced screw. The hinges and screws are steel and magnetic, though they have a brass colored finish. The interior is clean with light signs of previous use. Most interestingly, the underside of the box is signed in pencil by a Veteran who likely brought this back from the war. The handwritten pencil is faint, but appears to read, "William R McKai(vr) / Btry. "D" 126th a.a.a. G(...) / a.s.n 33643533". The case measures about 8.25 x 5.5 x 1.65 inches. A fairly unique offering - we haven't seen similar examples before.Specifications
