7/28/26 - For sale we have a rare late war Japanese Type 99 Arisaka 4x Scope made by the Tokyo Shibaura Electric Company. These late war style scopes have 3 external adjustments for zeroing. There are only about 50 of these scopes known today out of 2500 contracted. The exterior black paint on the scope is chipped and worn in many spots, mostly on the left side of the scope. The rubber eye piece is stiff but is in absolutely excellent condition. The lens is clear with a sharp reticle. The mounting plate locking lever functions correctly and the Japanese characters beside it are mostly clear and visible but there is some paint loss obstructing a few characters. The mount is correctly unnumbered. The scope serial is 18302. The scope is listed by serial number in "Japanese Sniper Rifles of the Second World War" by Victor A. Soto and Francis C. Allen.
