Description
5/11/26 - This is an original example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945 - marked "svw 45". This gun is in the f-block, and only a couple of thousand numbers away from the very end of wartime production. Additionally, this is a rare all-phosphate example, one of only ~3,700 produced (compared to nearly 8,000 dual-tones). As is common with the late-war phosphate finishes, there is spotty oxidation and staining throughout. The pistol shows thinning throughout, though many of these pistols left the factory with thin finishes. This one is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military proofs. It comes with good grips, although one appears to be shaved at the top. Also comes with a solid 'jwa4' stamped holster. Holster shows some minor cracking on the top of the flap, and a couple missing stitches near the closure strap. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. The de-cocker does not function, but it does work as a safety.
