10/23/18 - This is an original early WW2 example of a Luftwaffe Pilot Badge made by Berg & Nolte. Nickel Silver wreath and Silver plated Brass-based eagle. The eagle is purposefully darkened by the manufacturer with an artificial oxidation layer, while the wreath has a frosted silver finish. The wreath has some honest wear. Maker stamped on the reverse side. This medal does not come with the original Letter of Authenticity by Thomas M. Durante, but we do have a photograph of the original letter for this medal.
