M40 Double Decal Police Helmet

7/18/25 - The following is an excellent model of a German M40 helmet. The exterior of the helmet is very clean with almost all of the original factory paint still intact. There is minimal scratching outside of two spots around the crown of the helmet, and minor patina on the left and right under the decals near the brim. The decals on this helmet are reversed with the party decal on the left side of the helmet which is clearly visible despite one major area of chipping and the the German police decal on the right side which is very clean and not faded. Due to the location of the decals, it is possible that the decals were added in the postwar period. The interior of the helmet is likewise very clean with no visible patina or oxidization on the metal. The steel band and leather liner are intact. The leather liner shows sign of daily use, however the leather is soft and malleable with significant surface cracking around the band.
