Description
2/17/26 - This is a very nice example of am progoma; Mauser C96 Broomhandle chambered in 9mm, and nicknamed "Red 9". The firearm earned this name because of the branded grip panels so that the armorer would know the proper caliber of ammunition to give to the soldier carrying this variation of C96. This firearm is all-matching numbered including both grip panels and the wooden holster-stock matching the gun. This gun has retained ~90% of its original blue, with the most notable area of finish loss under the barrel. This is commonly seen as the pistol rubs against the inside of the stock in this area. Beyond that, the pistol is in very good condition with standard high edge wear. There is also some wear on the back strap from the installation and removal of the stock itself. The bore on this Mauser shows some age and use, with minor frost and oxidation throughout. The grips on this Broomhandle are in excellent condition with no signs of chips or cracks. The lid to the stock looks to have been cracked and repaired with glue just above the hinge, and is missing a screw. Note that there is an import mark under the left side frame rail of the pistol.
