Description

12/27/17 - This is a rare Mauser K98 sniper rifle with high turret scope.  The receiver is marked ch AC 44, and the parts are generally E/135 proofed.  All number parts are matching aside from the scope, which should not be numbered to the rifle.  The scope is marked CAD and has crisp, clear optics.  Front of the scope has a sun shield.  The mount is numbered and original.  The leather lens covers are maker marked inside but were likely added later as they are in noticeably better condition than the rifle.  The finish on the rifle is all original, with a mix of bluing and phosphate parts.  The stock has not been sanded or laminated, and is marked '23' on the left side, which is likely a rack number.  Excellent bore and mechanics.
